Overall Review: I'm about 90% finished with the game and I find myself powering through this last bit just to finish the game. Pretty much everyone is your enemy and you're a bad man. No third person view (would be nice when using vehicles) Way too easy (it's making me lazy and I get killed in BF2 more often now) Constant use of the in-game map is pretty much required Internet connection required to play single player game Unable to customize controls (run, jump, etc.)

Initial character set seems promising, but goes nowhere + Lighting effects are the best I have seen + Buddy system is interesting, with help from AI buddies
#Code far cry 2 pc upgrade
+ Interesting weapon upgrade method with a lot to choose from (gun dealers) + Dynamic weather and elements are the best I have seen (rain, wind, day & night, etc.) + Good sounds, especially with surround sound I'm hoping that Ubi listens to people's complaints and fixes this game because it has the potential to be KILLER. Sure, it has it's flaws, but you notice I gave it 4 eggs. Overall Review: Overall, I recommend this game. They really messed up the multiplayer but I hope they fix it soon. The whole game feels like a console game. No VoIP in-game, no server MOTD to let people know of vent/TS servers, and the patches haven't done anything yet. No assist points? Player limit capped at 16 players.

Deathmatch sucks in this game I play in the SniperCentric TDM Player match server which is cool (sniper-esque maps). No admin except for on location with the dedicated server (as of, so this may have changed by the time you read this), everything HAS to go through Ubi's server and it crashes A LOT. Absolutely ZERO perks for hosting a dedicated server from a data center. The other day I pulled some re-bar from the characters balls.Ĭons: multiplayer. I love it! Easy to use, and fun to play on with your friends. It's worth playing, but it's not the epic sequel we all wanted. This could have been the game of the year, but the lame story and repetive gameplay killed it. The anticipation and expectations for the sequel caused a situation where it was nearly impossible to match the popularity of the original game.

There was a lot of excitement when the sequel was being developed and everyone expected something epic. No, there are no mutuants.įor the record, the original Far Cry appeared suddenly and was a huge hit. Yes, there is a lot of traveling across the huge maps for each mission. Yes, it's repetitive (go kill everyone again). There are a lot of really poor reviews for this game and I'm not convinced that it deserves such a bad reputation. In the end, it turns out that you are not such a bad man. I will state that the end of the game does offer something positive. Overall Review: Just a follow-up to my previous review, now that I've finished the game. The game never crashed for me, not even once. Most of this is true, but I never had any stability problems. This makes it a completely different type of scripted FPS game compared to Bioshock or FEAR, where you must negotiate through a maze of indoor rooms and hallways.Ĭons: Read all the other reviews. For most missions, you can approach your target from any direction. When you do this, you get to see an interesting time lapse effect.Īlmost all the action takes place outdoors, with huge maps and lots of different ways to travel. If you don't like the weather or time of day, simply rest for a while at a safe house until the sun comes up or the weather improves. Try sniping them from a distance at night for a nice fireworks show.Īble to choose the time of day (attack your target at sunrise, noon, or any other time of day). Fuel tanks and propane bottles can give a lot of entertainment.

I love what the explosions do to the plants and trees.
